기획 소개
《B&W GSPF 2022 — 흑백은염사진페스티벌》은 디지털 사진이 보편화된 이후 점차 사라지고 있는 흑백 필름과 젤라틴 실버 파이버 프린트의 제작 경험을 이어가기 위해 기획한 전시이다.
흑백 필름과 전통적인 은염 인화 방식으로 작업하는 사진가들이 한자리에 모여 서로의 작품과 제작 경험을 나누고, 이 사진 프로세스가 다음 세대에도 지속되기를 바랐다. 공개모집을 통해 45명의 작가가 참여했으며, 9명의 초대작가를 포함해 총 54명의 작품을 소개하였다. 참여작가 가운데 한은경을 선정해 이후 개인전 기회를 제공했으며, 흑백 인화 기술을 다루는 세미나도 함께 진행하였다.
이 페스티벌은 단순히 오래된 사진기법을 보존하는 데 목적을 두기보다, 필름과 은염 인화라는 물질적 제작 과정이 오늘날에도 하나의 유효한 사진적 언어로 계속 사용되고 공유될 수 있는 장을 만들고자 한 시도였다.

Curatorial Introduction
B&W GSPF 2022 — Black & White, Gelatin Silver Printing Festival was conceived to sustain and share the knowledge of black-and-white film and gelatin silver fiber printing at a time when these processes were becoming increasingly uncommon in the digital era.
The festival brought together photographers who continue to work with black-and-white film and traditional silver-gelatin printing, creating a space in which they could compare works, exchange technical knowledge, and help carry the process forward. Forty-five artists participated through an open call, and with nine invited artists, the festival presented works by a total of fifty-four photographers. One participant, Han Eun Kyung, was selected for a subsequent solo exhibition, and the program also included a seminar on black-and-white printing techniques.
Rather than treating the process simply as a historical technique to be preserved, the festival sought to create a living context in which film and gelatin silver printing could continue to function as relevant photographic practices in the present.
